Privacy Policy (POPIA)

Your privacy matters to me. This policy explains, in plain language, what information I collect when you use this website or get in touch, why I collect it, and what your rights are. It is in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Who is responsible
Verona Prinsloo, pastoral counsellor, is responsible for your information. You can reach me at any time at veronaprinsloo.info@gmail.com or 084 642 9402.
What information I collect
If you use the contact form: your name, email address and the message you write. If you book a session: the name and email address you enter on the Google calendar. If you contact me on WhatsApp: your WhatsApp number and the messages you send. I never ask for more information than is needed.
Why I collect it
Only to respond to your enquiry, arrange an appointment, and provide the counselling. I use it for nothing else.
Service providers that help
I use a few trusted services to run the website: Web3Forms delivers the contact form to my email, Google handles the booking calendar, the video sessions (Google Meet) and my email, WhatsApp (Meta) handles messages, and Cloudflare hosts the website. These services only see the information needed to do their part. I never sell or rent your information.
Confidentiality of sessions
What you share with me in a session stays confidential, within the usual professional and legal limits. Any private notes are kept securely.
How long I keep it
I keep your information only as long as needed to help you and to meet my professional obligations. After that I delete it.
Cookies
The website itself does not use tracking cookies. The booking calendar embedded from Google may set cookies so that it can work.
Your rights
You may ask at any time to see what information I hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted entirely. Just send a message, and I’ll take care of it.
Security
I take reasonable steps to keep your information safe. No system is ever entirely without risk, but I treat your information with care.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will appear here with an updated date.
