About Verona

I’m a companion through change, not an expert trying to fix you from a distance.

Why I do this

My heart is with women moving through a big change who are quietly trying to carry it alone. So often there is no one she can say the real thing to. That is exactly when a person needs someone to walk beside her.

I work in Afrikaans, because your mother tongue is the language of your heart. Being heard in your own language makes a difference.

My own story

I don't write about change from a textbook. I have walked through many of these seasons myself.

I know the pain of a divorce, and the quiet overwhelm of suddenly being responsible for everything alone. I know the tangled road of a blended family, and the upheaval of moving into new places and new roles. I lived the grief of watching children leave the safety of home before their time. And I know the strange quiet of menopause, the way it leaves you wondering who you really are now.

I don't share this for sympathy, but because it taught me something: you don't have to carry these seasons alone. I understand change from the inside, and I also know that on the other side of the hard, a new beginning is waiting.

My approach

My work is narrative and pastoral. That means I listen gently, I don’t judge, and we don’t rush anywhere. We look together at the story you believe about yourself, and we find the places where you still hold the pen.

I don’t believe you are broken. You are moving through a season, and your story isn’t finished yet.
